The Government has confirmed the split of its $143.6 million investment for metro rail that will be spent on critical upgrades of our two metro networks:
- $94.2 million will be invested in maintenance and renewals in the Wellington metro rail network
- $49.4 million will be invested in upgrades across the Auckland metro rail network
The investment will improve the level of service for passengers by addressing overdue and critical renewals work.
